Boise State Lacrosse Hangs On To Beat Idaho

Boise State (4-7) and University of Idaho (4-5) played a close, hard fought game Saturday afternoon in the City of Trees. The crowd was loud, enthusiastic, and one of the largest I’ve seen at a Boise State lacrosse game with both teams well represented.  The game was close throughout and the Broncos ended the 3rd quarter with an 11-8 lead.  The Vandals scored three quick goals to start the 4th to tie the score at 11 causing Boise State to take a timeout and settle things down.  After the timeout, the Broncos regained their composure controlling much of the possession and getting two goals to win by a final score of 13-11.  The standouts from Saturday’s rivalry game for the Broncos were:

- #1 Jake Christensen – senior middie – 12 groundballs, 1 goal, 3 assists.

- #13 Harrison Collard – sophomores middie – 18/24 faceoffs, 8 groundballs.

- #11 Dolin Culver – freshman attack – 3 groundballs, 3 goals, 1 assist.

And the Vandals standouts were:

- #39 Eric Fletcher – senior attack – 5 goals, 3 assists.

- #15 Kyle Morse – sophomore attack – 3 goals.

Here are some awesome photos from Saturday’s game compliments of Boise State Goalie Coach Shawn Carman:

The in-state rivals will play again in Boise this weekend in the first round of the PNCLL playoffs with the winner advancing to the semi-finals in Hillsboro, OR.
