Season’s second act promises surprises (Forde Yard Dash) – Pat Forde [ESPN] This is a good dash – I especially liked the Chris Petersen mention.
Mouth-watering Top 25 serves as ultimate college dining guide – Andy Staples [SI] Food themed power rankings from Staples? Doesn’t get much better than that.
The Free Bruce Podcast with Mike Gundy – Bryan Fischer [CBSSports]

Stoops Relieved of Duties [ArizonaWildcats] Mike Stoops was fired on Tuesday so get ready for Chris Petersen to Arizona rumors if you haven’t already heard them. Hard to see him taking that job after turning down much better opportunities.
Mike Stoops’ legacy: He put in the foundation – Anthony Gimino [TucsonCitizen] Despite getting run out of town, at least Stoops made the Cats somewhat relevant – gotta give him credit for that.
TCU accepts invite to join Big 12 [SI] Just in case you hadn’t already heard. Needless to say, I’m a little jealous.
Notre Dame’s football independence now at risk – Brett McMurphy [CBSSports] TCU’s “departure” from the Big East leaves the conference in limbo.
In realignment circus, desperate Big East will likely lose AQ status – Stewart Mandel [SI] It should be interesting to see if they league decides to invite Boise State and what the school’s decision would be. The TV money makes it seem like a no-brainer but if the conference loses AQ status is it really worth it? Would they be welcomed back to the MWC? Have to go back to the WAC? Clearly the Big-12 and Pac-12 aren’t interested.
OSU’s glory days? On Omaha roster – Tom Shatel [Omaha] An interesting story on how Troy Smith and Maurice Clarett view the situation at Ohio State.
The Dotted Line: Josh Luchs (video) [ESPN] A clip from the ESPN documentary on agents called “The Dotted Line” with Josh Luchs driving right up to UCLA’s practice field. Pretty crazy.
NCAA, Boise State provide details of Febis, Boldewijn suspensions – Chadd Cripe [IdahoStatesman] We finally got some information about the suspensions but it’s nearly as ridiculous as couch-gate. The best news is that the violations are secondary and hopefully Tjong-A-Tjoe is back soon.
Stephen Garcia dismissed from Gamecocks – Jerry Hinnen [CBSSports] This is least surprising news I think I’ve ever heard. How many weeks until Spurrier reinstates him?

Nude Awakening – Morty Ain [ESPN The Magazine] Athletes are always being interviewed in the nude so Morty interviewed L.A. Kings players Jonathan Bernier and Kevin Westgarth – it’s pretty good.
Red Wings top Power Rankings – Adrian Dater [SI] I’m excited to see what the Avs (No. 22) can do this season, but you already knew that.

Is LeBron James really eyeing the NFL? – Tom Haberstroh [ESPN] Who knows if LeBron was being serious or what but I would LOVE to see a defensive back or linebacker try to cover him in the red zone. To increase the speculation he was even tweeting with Pete Carroll about it. Someone please make this happen.
