One Year Anniversary & Reader Feedback Request

One year ago today, Drofdarb Sports’ inaugural post went up (a picture of me “slayin fishes”) followed by my first real post two days later. The blog started as a somewhat random idea after chatting with Jeff Brunelle (one of the LaxAllStars founders) upon his return to Boise from New York. I was obviously quite nervous when I first started but time has flown by and I can’t believe it’s already been a year. Thanks to all of you, my readers – hopefully I keep you somewhat informed and even entertained at times.

First Year By The Numbers:

19,514 pageviews
13,612 visits
9,621 visitors
255 was the most visits on any single day (8/25/11)
Visits from 108 different countries (United States, Canada and United Kingdom were top 3)
37.29 visits per day
Average time on site: 1 min 21 seconds

These were the 10 most viewed articles though the first year:

Feedback:

Lastly, I would LOVE some feedback from my readers. A few of you like to comment occasionally but I’m looking some solid feedback to hopefully make the blog better. Feel free to answer any of the following questions in the comments section or to add any other comments/suggestions you might have.

- What would you like to see more of? Less of?
- Do you like Humpday’s Happenings & Hyperlinks? What would you change about it?
- Do you like “The Triple-Dub – What To Watch And Why”? Do you want more games previewed, less games, different sports? Do you find it helpful?
- How do you usually get to the site/access content? Facebook, Twitter, directly to the site?
- What are your favorite topics? Least favorite topics?
- Too much Boise State? Not enough Boise State?
- More “Top 10″ lists?
- More Pac-12 coverage?
- Do you prefer longer posts? Shorter posts?
- Literally any other suggestions, complaints, comments, recommendations or even to tell me how terrible of a writer I am..

If you don’t want to comment but would like to give feedback you can also email me at: [email protected]

Obviously I probably can’t incorporate every suggestion (if I get any) but I really want to hear what you guys think!!

Lastly, I owe a huge thanks to Jeff Brunelle and Lacrosse All Stars for giving me a platform and a voice.  Thanks guys!

    - What would you like to see more of? Less of?
More surfing stuff and possibly college football picks.

    - Do you like Humpday’s Happenings & Hyperlinks? What would you change about it?
Love it. More quick hitting links would be great.- Do you like “The Triple-Dub – What To Watch And Why”? Do you want more games previewed, less games, different sports? Do you find it helpful? This is my fav thing you write. A sampling of the best from various sports would be great. Maybe niche sports that are on TV that normally we wouldn’t hear about?- How do you usually get to the site/access content? Facebook, Twitter, directly to the site? Direct to site- What are your favorite topics? Least favorite topics? College football, Surfing, EPL for newbies, and lax!- Too much Boise State? Not enough Boise State? Sometimes too much BSU but hard to blame you.  More BSU gambling related info (aka will they cover, over/under)
    - More Pac-12 coverage? Yes- Do you prefer longer posts? Shorter posts? Mix of both.

More surfing, huh? I didn’t expect to hear that but would be fine with me.
EPL for newbies would probably be helpful for others too.

Thanks for the feedback (seriously). Hopefully at least a few others can give some suggestions too.

First up, big fan of the blog. Love the regularity of the posting, always visit the blog on a Wednesday and a Friday. Also, the CFB Twitter list you posted was brilliant, I followed all the people suggested.

It would be great to see a round-up of the weekend’s action every Monday with some links etc. and maybe a Heisman Watch List series throughout the CFB season….

A big thanks from across the pond (London-based).

Thanks for the compliments and suggestions, David.

I tried incorporating one of your suggestions this week with my College Football Week 1 Recap (http://drofdarb.laxallstars.com/college-football-week-1-recap/). Is that kind of what you are looking for?

Thanks for reading from across the pond and thanks again for the feedback!

Not sure why that link isn’t working – maybe this one will: http://drofdarb.laxallstars.com/college-football-week-1-recap/

Exactly what I was thinking…. I use ESPN College Pass to watch as much of the action in the UK as I can, but with the RWC about to start and the Premier League in full flow my weekend’s sport viewing is getting increasingly congested. Recaps like that are pretty ideal.

    Thanks.
