Your weekend viewing guide - The best games of the weekend and why you should watch. The Triple-Dub: October 15th-16th College Football: I don’t know if ESPN has a clever name for this weekend but I would like to suggest “Snoozer Saturday” with exactly one truly exciting match-up on the schedule. And no it’s not Michigan-Michigan State, Baylor-Texas A&M or Oklahoma State-Texas. -Saturday Oct. 15th #18 Arizona State Sun Devils (5-1) @ #9 Oregon Ducks (4-1) (Autzen Stadium – Eugene, OR) 10:15… Read More »

Pac-12 Power Rankings – Week 6
I post weekly power rankings for the Mountain West which has been rather mundane so I figured some Pac-12 power rankings might be more interseting. 1. #7 Stanford 5-0 (3-0) – Andrew Luck actually showed up as a Heisman contender last week completing 78.7% of his passes for 370 yards, 3 touchdowns and 1 interception. Expect some similar, if not better numbers on Saturday. This week: @ Washington State 7:30 PM ET – Versus 2. #9 Oregon 4-1 (2-0) –… Read More »
Mountain West Roundup – Week 6 Power Rankings
Previous weeks: Preseason, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 It’s becoming increasingly obvious that the Mountain West isn’t what we thought it would be. Even the TCU-San Diego State game was sloppy with two teams combining to turn the ball over eight times. Other than Boise State demolishing Fresno State, the rest conference got rolled again. 1. #5 Boise State 5-0 (0-0) – Kellen Moore was back to normal completing 74.2% of his passes for 254 yards and 3 touchdowns while the Broncos defense played their most… Read More »

Drofdarb’s Week 5 Top 20 Ballot
This is pretty self explanatory - it’s my ballot for The Upset Top 20. We waited until week 5 for the first poll to actually see how good teams are and because preseason polls are garbage. Feel free to share your top 20 teams or disparage mine. 1. Alabama (5-0) 2. LSU (5-0) 3. Oklahoma (4-0) 4. Wisconsin (5-0) 5. Boise State (4-0) 6. Clemson (5-0) 7. Oklahoma State (4-0) 8. College Football Week 5 Recap
It was a pretty decent weekend of college football – some of the games weren’t as close as I had hoped but a few teams appear to be separating themselves from everyone else. BYU 27, Utah State 24 The Cougars trailed for most of the game and the offense continued to struggle with Jake Heaps at quarterback. The BYU coaches replaced Heaps with Riley Nelson in the third quarter and the teams’ effort was noticeably different. Nelson completed 10 of 14 passes for 144… Read More »
