The Triple-Dub – What To Watch And Why

Your weekend viewing guide - The best games of the weekend and why you should watch. Usually everything from College Football, to the English Premier League, to the NHL but this week there’s next to nothing on.

The Triple-Dub: July 29th – July 31st

I was going to list the Major League Soccer and Major League Lacrosse games on TV this weekend – just the games and times, I haven’t been following either league and wouldn’t know what I was talking about otherwise – but the Summer X Games seem to have taken their weekend time-slots on ESPN.  With that, you’re stuck with the Women’s British Open, Summer X Games or hopefully some classic college football on ESPN Classic or Fox Sports. Below are the only two MLS games I could find on TV this weekend…

Major League Soccer:

-Friday July 29th
Colorado Rapids (7-10-6 – 31 pts) @ Philadelphia Union (8-7-4 – 31 pts) - (PPL Park – Chester, PA) – 7:30 PM ET – FSC

-Saturday July 30th
Los Angeles Galaxy (11-9-2 – 42 pts) @ Vancouver Whitecaps (2-9-10 – 15 pts) - (Empire Field – Vancouver, B.C.) – 7:30 PM ET

Unless you’re a fan of one of these teams or a die-hard MLS fan, you’re probably best served spending the weekend outside in the sun (especially with college football right around the corner!).

Update: I had completely forgotten about this, but Shark Week starts this Sunday, July 31st on Discovery Channel.  According to the site, the new shows start at 9:00 PM ET but the TV guide has re-runs scheduled throughout the day on Sunday. I don’t know about you, but I’m sure I’ll be watching some Shark Week on Sunday and likely throughout the week!
